This rich and beautiful weave has been brought to you all the way from Kutch. The weaves of Bhujodi signifies a symbiotic relationship between the vankars (weavers) and rabaris (pastorial nomads or cattle herders). Theirs was a paradigm of co-dependency – the rabaris provided the weavers with fleece, and the weavers, in turn, weaved the wool into blankets that kept the rabaris warm during frigid winters. From what began as exquisite fabric meant to be draped by men across their torso (known as a dhabdo) and over their shoulders, this exquisite craft has moved beyond the original and adapted very well to today's demand. And now Bhujodi beguiles the discerning craft with its vastness of handcrafted sarees, dupatta, shawls, scarves, rugs and even quilts with their intricate pattern and colorful tassels.
